My interest and passion in holistic healing stems from a deep-rooted desire to achieve a healthy and well self, a value that was instilled in me. I carried these passions, seeking a career that could uphold my core values. On a whim I stumbled upon massage therapy and instantly discovered my purpose. By 2006 I began practicing massage therapy after studying massage at the Maui School of Therapeutic Massage and becoming licensed in the state of Hawaii. Hungry to deepen my practice I sought additional trainings in levels 1-3 in Thai Massage from the Thai Massage School of Chiang Mai, Thailand and level 1 Myofascial Release, studying under John Barnes among many other additional training's throughout my career.
A native of a naturally colder climate, I returned to Minnesota in 2008 to pursue a career as a Licensed Massage Therapist in the Twin Cities metro area as well as complete an Associates of Science Degree in Integrative Health and Healing. This education provided me with a strong background in the many facets of alternative medicine including energy healing which has allowed me to grow on both a personal and professional level. During this time I also became certified in levels 1 & 2 Spring Forest Qigong. This is yet another experience that has helped me better assist clients in healing themselves. I also am an Infant Massage Instructor and trained doula and birth coach through Blooma in Saint Paul, MN. Most recently, I discovered BodyMind Coaching to help clients on a deeper level become more present in their bodies, so they can make healthier choices in their lives.
I hope to spread my knowledge and practice of massage and integrative healing through the evolution of honu Therapeutic Massage, a massage therapy and BodyMind coaching business dedicated to and focused on helping people live healthier and happier lives.
When I am not at honu I am working at Secoya Health. Secoya Health is a progressive applied kinesiology, chiropractic, and nutritional clinic located in Woodbury, MN focusing on natural and holistic care. For more information, please refer to the Resources page.
